At Wild Spirit Yoga, each group class is a gentle blend of Hatha and Vinyasa yoga styles with an emphasis on spiritual practice. Hatha Yoga is often more slower moving than Vinyasa, holding each posture longer so that it becomes a pose of meditation. During a Vinyasa practice, each posture is linked and connected with an inhalation and exhalation of breath and a vinyasa sequence to transition throughout the practice. With a graceful fusion of both styles, we are able to move through our asana practice with mindful intention, face any challenges with focus and a calm mind and lead with our heart as we create a conscious connection between our mind, body and spirit.
During our classes we prioritise the importance of alignment to prevent injury, create strength and stability and receive the maximum benefits of each posture. Modifications are provided to cater for all experience levels and guidance and adjustments are offered throughout the class. We also focus our practice around our breath with a cleansing and centering pranayama to begin with and an emphasis on the connection of our breath to our posture and to our whole being throughout the practice.
